A kitchen island or kitchen countertop is one of the main features in a kitchen. They can be made of many different mediums like granite, wood, marble, stone, and more. A kitchen island anchors the space in the kitchen and serves as an extra work surface and eating area.
In the past wooden corbels were the means of “holding up” a countertop with an overhang. But did you know that corbels do not hold up your countertop at all; thus, leaving your investment at risk of breakage? Wood corbels are beautiful and serve as a purpose of beauty only.
Today there is a way to make your countertop appear as if it is floating. There are no corbels to get in the way of adding extra chairs you need, plus you will no longer knock your knees on those corbels when entering and exiting.
How do you make your kitchen countertop look like it is floating?
The Original Granite Bracket was first in designing hidden countertop support brackets. The purpose was to protect a countertop from breakage, give more room at the countertop and not bang your knees on corbels, plus give the beautiful appearance of a floating kitchen countertop.
There are many hidden countertop support brackets to choose from, but today we will talk about the Hidden T-Bracket.
The T-Bracket Hidden Granite Bracket is the bracket which will use the weight of the granite to support your big granite countertop overhang on an island. This Bracket lies across the top of the cabinet, half of the bracket will be inside of the cabinet and the other half will be exposed under the overhang. The vertical angle drops down on the inside back of the cabinets and is used to hold the T- Bracket in place until the granite is put in place. This will give your granite the appearance of floating once installed.
With hidden countertop support brackets you can now make your overhang on your countertop as long as you want and the investment you made in your kitchen countertop will be protected.
